Why Are More and More Women Dating Online?
More and more women are turning to online dating sites to meet men. Why is this? The answer cannot be narrowed down to one particular reason, as there are many. Women are no longer sitting and waiting for prince charming to show up and ask for their father’s permission to marry his daughter. Women were so inferior back then. Fortunately, women are much more powerful these days.
The modern woman is now a driven, career climbing, working professional. Education was a priority and many women put their love lives on hold in order to reach their educational goals. This has empowered them to do whatever it is that they want to do. Women are no longer sitting on the sidelines watching others succeed, they are now leaders. What does this all mean? Women no longer have the free time to sew, knit, or even socialize. This makes it complicated for them to find anyone to date.
This is one of the biggest reasons why mean and women are turning to online dating sites. Just a few short years ago, the amount of men vs. women dating online, were unequal. More than 60% of the online dating community were men. Now, it has balanced out, and in some cases, women actually outnumber the men. Many women, when asked why they choose to date online, state that it gives them longer to establish relationships and they have a larger variety of men to choose from. To be honest, women really do not like to rush into a relationship.
Women enjoy being able to screen a guy. They like learning every detail. This makes it easier to make a list in their head of the pros and cons. Maybe they will even discuss this with their family and/or girlfriends. Also, women are all about saving things. Think back to high school, how many girls did you know that had shoeboxes full of love letters? Women are still this way. The internet gives them the ability to save recent conversation histories, as well as emailed messages.
Internet dating gives women the breathing space that they need. They gain the ability to fully weigh out all of the options before fully committing to anything. Dating sites also offer a bit of security for women, and as we all know, women love to control a situation. The amount of women dating online is on a rise. This will only continue to climb as women become more powerful, and in turn, busier.
