Online Dating Question: Why don’t girls respond to my messages, ice breakers, or profile?
I tried this online dating site called OKCupid… it’s free and people also use it to make friends. I send people messages, not to just go out with them, sometimes its just to make a new friend and I try commenting on either their profile… their picture… or something I picked up from their personality by the way they type.
I try complementing them and responding to something they have in their profile but it seems no one ever responds to my messages. I’m new to this so I’m not that good at this…
What do girls want to read in their profile or what can I say to someone for them to want to respond to me back? I tried being funny, smart, I tried holding conversations with them and asking them questions but I never get a response… and i’m not going to sound conceaded and say My picture is crazy hott but I can say i’m not ugly. Any advice?
You should not try to be funny at first unless you are sure your joke is outstandingly funny, and then you can never be sure the other person will not think your silly for sending a joke. I would not send a message telling someone they are beautiful or just say hello to them. I like it when someone sends me a message telling me why they did message, such as something they have in common with me on a profile, or a message where the sender explains some about himself. An icebreaker is usually very wrote a certain way for each site and is easy to send, a real message takes time and thought. When you send a message make it as interesting as possible each time, that way you hold the person’s attention for longer. It is easy to run out of things to talk about online, especially when one or both people are not really sharing much. Try talking about music, books, magazines, animals, news, etc. These are things that everyone has an opinion on, but it does not reveal any personal information really by either party. I get more results that way personally.
