What’s a good opener when talking to women online?

I’ve been trying to meet women on a social networking site, kind of like myspace but it is specifically for people living in my city and those looking for dating and relationships. I want to know what is a good first email to send, something more than “Hello” but not creepy or stalkerish. Also, I’m not looking for cheesy pickup lines as I’ve never heard of those working. I just want some tips as to what kind of email to send that will make a girl want to respond. Once I get over that hurdle I can keep the conversation going, it’s just that initial first contact that’s giving me trouble.

Just be yourself and it will come naturally. Whatever comes to find that you’re comfortable with will work best.
