What is the truth about citizenship?
I have heard and read conflicting reports about citizenship. If a Christian American Citizen marries a Muslim Egyptian Citizen, is the American’s citizenship in jeopardy, in any way? Do they automatically become an Egyptian Citizen? Does it matter where they live? Please, I want straight true answers. I am getting conflicting reports that are very confusing. Anyone know any websites that are UP TO DATE? Thank you. Please only answer if you know the real truth of these matters. Thanks.
By the way, neither person is wanting to change their own citizenship. But will desire permission to live part time in US and part time in Egypt.
The US allows and accepts dual citizenship. As long as the other country that you Naturalize in does not require you to renounce your US citizenship, then you can have both.

In order to lose U.S. citizenship, the law requires that the person must apply for the foreign citizenship voluntarily, by free choice, and with the intention to give up U.S. citizenship.
Notice it says “and with the intention to give up U.S. citizenship”. So you can become a citizen of another country and not loose your US citizenship.
Also anyone who Naturalizes in the US is not required to renounce their former citizenship either. It is an option available to them, but they do not have to take it. As long as they 1st country allows dual citizenship then they will be just fine as well.
