I am getting married in SA and have a few questions… can you help?

My fiance’ and I are both South Africans living in London. We have set the date for February. The reason we are getting married in South Africa is because I would like to put her on my ancestral visa.

I have a few questions about the practical side of things.

We aren’t particularly religious and have opted for a small ceremony at the registrars office (an out-of-church wedding). Is there a waiting list for this type of “civil” wedding service?

How long before all the paperwork (marriage certificates etc) are finalised? (ie: do we have to go through home affairs and wait for the paperwork?)

We are going to be in Cape Town (my home town) for about a month, so we would like everything to be sorted out while we aer there enjoying our holiday together.

I am sorry to say that I know nothing about foreign affairs or marriages but you can contact the legal office in that area and they can help you. I would not want to give you bad info.
