question about inviting people into your home.. (african culture)?

sorry for posting this in singles & dating but this IS about my boyfriend!

My boyfriend’s from Africa and I know he follows their culture, religion (christian) etc..

He told me that in his culture, when you bring a girl home/invite her to your home that means your really serious about her (You’d want to marry her one day) For this reason, he’s never brought any of his girlfriends to meet his family.. I’ve never met his family yet either, but he does want me to someday.

For some reason my dad thinks this is bull ****, and thinks he is lying so girls never have to meet his family. I don’t think he’s right but I thought I’d ask on here. If it helps.. He’s lived in Congo, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania

This is true is Tanzania and in Kenya…
