How to start a conversation on an online dating site?
when I want to start a conversation (when emailing someone), I’m at a loss for words. especially when I’m messaging a guy (I’m bi), b/c irl I always let the guy make the first move. I don’t know what to say, except “hey, what’s up?”
and IF someone happens to live in the same city, is it ok to ask if they want to hang out sometime? (since I live near downtown, where all the shops/restaurants are) or is that too forward for a first message? I’m new to online dating, so Idk how it goes.
From my experience people just say “hi” (and if they’re really talkative even ask you what’s up…) and then wait to see if the other person is even interested before going further.
Most people just look for a hookup, it sounds like you’re not, so asking if they wanna hang out right away is going to give them the wrong message.
Just be cool about it. Say hello, see if he’s interested and take it from there.
